So I was out of town all week with work and I return home to this:

I mentioned it once recently to one of my gun buddies while we had all gone out dinner and my wife remembered and picked it up. I am impressed with the gun but moreso with her. Lucky man here!

Congrats on both.

Give us a range report after you run it.

So I wanted to mount my can to the new 509 and it stays on my fnx so while I had them out together I snapped a few pics.
This is making me want to get a dedicated 9mm can now lol

You are. Alot of wives would have been passive aggressive about it since this probably wasn't an inexpensive purchase. Sound like you should hang on to her.

Hmmm I'd be skeptical about what she bought HERSELF while you were gone.

Very nice! This is definitely on my to-buy list.

Looks like you’ll do it justice and put an RMR on it. Worth every penny.

So your wife committed a straw purchase and you post it on the internet?

A gift is not a straw purchase.

This is Louisiana, it's community property no matter who bought it.

Yeah I will put something on it eventually. The trijicon on the fnx is basically cheating when it comes to easy accuracy. I have been mulling around ideas for the next rmr but it will be hard to move away from trijicon. I am open to suggestions though. I haven't looked at the market for them in a few years. May wait till black friday/cyber monday for a good deal though too. I have an inforce light on the fnx but that is something I am thinking of getting away from for this one. For various reasons.

Def not a straw purchase lol. She bought through a very reputable dealer that knows more about guns and gun laws than most I have encountered, much less something as easy to identify as a straw purchase. She was very up front with him as to her intentions, besides.

You realize that has zero to do with federal laws?

ETA: Both NRA and NSSF recommend giving a gift card and not a firearm as the gift

Well this may give away where she got it but the owner of the business is a former LA assistant attorney general. Pretty sure he knows a straw purchase when he sees one and when its perfectly legal.

Get a RMR type 2 on it and wait for Apex to release their new FNS and 509 trigger and you will have an absolute beast of a gun.

ChatRabbit.... you prefer apex over greyguns in the flat trigger area?

Never used a greyguns. I hear great things though. I don't think you can go wrong with either. I have shot plenty through various apex trigger sets though.
