I like Saguaro InvisX also for my jig and worm rods.
The rest of the rods, I am just a cheap and use basspro excel line or Trilene XT.
Add a can of 3M spray silicone to keep the line manageable.

I’ve fished a lot of those lines. I’d say about 15 or more of those 29.
The memory test is very flawed and more than likely very inaccurate. But the other tests are pretty legit.
I’ve actually fished that spro line. I did like it for the most part. I seem to remember it wasn’t my favorite for long casting but enjoyed dock skipping with it.
I was surprised to see vanish and gold label high on the list. Those two lines are garbage imo.

I requested a sticky for this thread for at least 6 months so we can revisit it when we need to by fluoro (I have plenty right now).
TIA

I saw that video the other day. I'm sticking with Vanish.

Talk to me like the idiot I am….is fluro that much better? Are y’all spooling whole reels with it? I’ve heard of it for leaders but not whole spools.
Fluoro is invisible underwater, it doesn't float, is super strong, and is abrasion resistant. I have always spooled up about half a spool of cheap line and then the rest with fluoro line. No sense in spooling up a whole spool unless you're sponsored by the line company.

Mono doesn't either.

This is false.

Fluorocarbon might not be invisible, but it definitely helps. You can prove it out fishing for picky arse mangrove snappers. The man with the longest fluorocarbon leader will get bit the most.

I've used both in Fl. in very clear water. Never a difference in bites.

The characteristics I listed about fluorocarbon line are well-known by most every fisherman except you.

We caught mangroves in key west with a live hardtail on a giant lime green jig head and powerpro in 80' of water so clear you could see the bottom. Didn't seem to matter at all there. It absolutely makes a very significant difference out of fouchon.

Never had good luck with the Fluoro. I'll order some McCoy and try it again.

There's a lot of misconceptions out there about fluorocarbon line. As I understand it, the biggest difference between the two is line density. Fluorocarbon is a much denser line which will have higher sensitivity. They are both considered neutrally buoyant, but fluorocarbon will allow a lure to sink faster because of its density.
I use it for bottom contact baits and weightless presentations where I want a little more line sensitivity. And also for crankbaits.

quote:This is my try out year for both since the products have become so much more user friendly. Have used it for leader line for many years on baits I want to sink. Still use mono for Carolina rigs.

Triple Fish was some good stuff for clear lakes like Keowee and Hartwell back in the day so if true I can definitely get behind some McCoy
