After this front and the winds that follow tomorrow (blowing 20-30 mph until 3pm tomorrow) is there any chance the water will be fishable by Saturday morning?

Personally, I wouldn’t do it.. but I can sometimes be lazy and a fair weather fisherman.

The winds are forecast to die down quickly starting tomorrow afternoon. Just wondering how messed up the water gets in that area after those kind of winds.

The lake will prolly be dirty but the marsh should be fairly clean quickly

Same question: I plan to go to the Delacroix area Saturday. Around 4 horse. Am I wasting my time?

Gale warnings today, water is already low and falling. Would not go this weekend

Could probably find some clean water but will be really low

This for sure. Maybe Sunday one could fish. There will still be skinny water.

Fishing will be good this weekend. Reds will be concentrated. Once you find them it will be one stop shop.

I’m assuming the same would hold true for the Hopedale area?

Problem is when the wind stops blowing so hard from the north the dirty lake water will replace it in the marsh.

That’s what I think.

I agree with this, the fish aren't going to leave. They will just go somewhere else. But once you find them it should be on. Finding them will be the tricky part. Dealing with same issues but for Leeville/GI. Think I will try East side of hwy 1, hoping that acts somewhat as a barrier for the winds. We'll see. Need to run the boat either way.

Tomorrow is my day for sure. Hell or low water.

Had a nice run of bass a few weeks ago. That was the bomb.

Went yesterday. First stop was the wall. 1 bite but missed it. Went to the locks and fished the deep water, nothing. Ran to some marsh spots off the ICWW all the way to Lake Catherine. Too low couldn't get in any of them. Lake borgne was dirty so that was a no go as well. At 12:30 went to the rocks at the MRGO and had a limit by 3. I had my boat in 10' of water about 20 yards off the rocks throwing towards the middle. The matrix shad creole shrimp on a 3/8 oz jig head out fished the live shrimp my boy was throwing. Had to use the Pontchartrain Pop to catch them though.

That’s good info. There’s a shite ton of rocks in the MRGO though. Are you talking about the rocks at the end of the MRGO?

I would suspect he means the rocks closer to the wall in MRGO. Don’t believe there’s any trout at the long rocks now

Wind and tide making some skinny water on interior. Fish are there but you may get stuck

Go to Delacroix for all the action on reds you can handle.

I fish that 10’-12’ water off the rocks often as well. Have caught some nice trout right there on Rat L traps. Key is finding how deep they are suspended using sonar and letting it sink to that depth. They will crush it.
