Fish identification

What are the Croaker looking fish caught on beach in Louisiana. They have a black tip on tails also. We always called them Sand Mullets but I can't find real name anywhere

Three species of kingfish are often referred to as whiting. I think the gulf and, to a lesser extent, the southern are what is commonly found along the gulf coast

Always called them ground mullet around here. Super white meat.

Probably a “spot”. Small croaker looking fish but the spot is up towards the head.
