Went Friday and got fingerprinted for my CCP at the LSP headquarters. Is this still a faster turnaround than sending in the cards? They told my buddy they were still backlogged to November earlier in the week.

Definitely faster.

Just renewed mine and it took about 6 weeks for the approval. I received my email for payment and it took about 6 more weeks before they mailed it.

Appreciate the info. Hoping to have it by April and wanted to give myself the best chance.

Was that a quadruple post?

Digital fingerprints at LSP HQ>>digital prints elsewhere>>>>>>>>>>ink & paper prints.

I'm happy for those of you who can get digital prints at the LSP HQ's as it seems to fast track the application to some degree. Many parts of the process are unfair. For example, it's really unfair for those of us who can't get prints done at LSP HQ because we live a distance away from BR. Renewals don't involve prints yet mine took >5 months to process.

That’s insane that a renewal took that long. Mine expired last year when all this mess started so I didn’t worry about the course. I find it crazy that I even had to get fingerprinted again.

Did you carry while it processed?

A small part of that was my fault. I submitted the renewal digitally, but sent the driver's license and certificate by mail; it was late at night and I didn't feel like learning how to submit that information digitally w/ a new printer. After 4 months or so I contacted them by phone at which time they were still reviewing applications 2-3 months older than mine. They offered to let me resubmit my entire renewal digitally so that's what I did. Still took another month or so after that. My initial application five years earlier was delayed being mailed to me by one week because they ran out of printer ink..... no joking.[

This whole thread sounds like a giant infringement of a Devine right to self defense, and 2nd.

I don’t care about COVID, make it streamlined or do not burden law abiding citizens and do away with the whole system.

I did the online application and got fingerprints at the state police headquarters two weeks ago. Got my CCP in the mail last week. A lot faster than I thought reading other experiences.

I got an email saying it was approved today. Took one business day. Definitely worth going and getting the done in person.

This is just DUMB, you should be able to go to any LSP headquarters and have them transmit finger prints to BR.

We had 8 family/friends do a course in early Dec and mailed everything off. Still haven't heard anything.

Not good for y'all. I'd suggest you contact CHP and find out what month they're currently reviewing mail in applications. If they're far behind, I'd ask if they could convert the application(s) to digital.

I suggest to my students to use their cell phone for the photo since it’s likely higher quality than a scanner anyway. And if it rejects the format, just convert to jpeg or pdf and try again.

Obviously you’ve already submitted but pass that on to anyone else who may be in that situation .

I never thought of that. I'll need to start the renewal process in a few months. I'll keep your suggestion in mind.
