Best part of these threads is no one is ever in the wrong when they are on the internet!

Agree though always someone going to pull right up beside you when you're fishing. Just not worth getting mad about though.

The worst is bringing friends fishing to a spot that's pretty "secret" to you, then going fishing later only to see he/she is back there with other dudes in his/her boat.

More true words have never been spoken.

I pull my jump seat out and make them ride on the front deck so they are facing me the whole way. It's just easier this way plus it allows for more space in an already cramped cockpit. I took out a friends brother in law as a favor. Fast forward a few weeks and I overhear him talking about how he dropped a handheld GPS in his bag and tracked the whole day.

With the shrinking public access to tidal marsh I have stopped sharing information with people I don't trust.

yall are pretty insecure about spots, eh?

in regards to trolling an area. i am still new at pulling up to spots with other boats. if anything i'm almost too cautious, but i think that's the right approach initially.
with that in mind, i understand you aren't supposed to pull up on someone fishing a spot. but how are you to avoid pulling up on someone trolling an entire coastline?
bear in mind i am fishing out of cocodrie. mostly the inshore islands.

As long as you dont stop in front of them and troll in the same direction you are fine.

Now that you mention it, most of the time it is private. In fact, it's very likely private. Especially places like Delacroix, which are entirely with the exception of main canals.

Other than the obvious answer of "no," you missed the point by a mile. I don't own the water, nor do I own the marsh. I'll never be fairly accused of acting like that either.

The point is simple: if I knew a friend of mine put hundreds of hours finding a secluded, productive place to fish, and he brought me to that spot, I'd respect that by not blowing his spot up - be it to other people, social media, whatever. Sure I'd go fish it sometimes, but I respect the effort and knowledge involved in finding places like that. Maybe you don't, and that's fine.

Also, to answer the more literal part of your question, yes. Very few people fish the places I fish in the marsh, because very few people can get to them .

ETA: I'm becoming way more of a snob than I originally intended with these posts so I'll just leave it at that. I'm all about bringing people fishing. Half the time I don't even fish with my normal crew, just because I'm all about bringing other people to see what it's all about. I just posted something that bothered me, and I really don't think it's unfair at all to be bothered by that. Like I said earlier, it's a respect thing.

If you're fishing more crowded areas and someone is trolling a whole shoreline, just give em some space. Don't cut them off (within a reasonable distance) and you're good.

PSA- This one is as good as the original buff and less than half the price
