You gonna get a 6.5???

I love that caliber. I just wish it was a .264 instead of 6.5 since I hate metric numbers. I love those long skinny bullets though.

That's like Toyota Tacoma vs F250.

It will probably be my next build. Was going to build this STW but it's shooting so well I think I'm going to leave it alone and build a 6.5. The more I research it I think it may be the perfect whitetail caliber. It'll be a fight to quit my 270, but the numbers are hard to argue with.

I've been arguing for it my whole life. Grew up with two different 6.5x55's and killed a assload of deer with them. Never had a bullet not exit. Something about that long skinny bullet just puts them on the ground quick. Also has some soft recoil, mild muzzle blast, and seems to not be picky at all about ammo.

I fricking love it. Easily my favorite deer caliber. It's just hard as hell to find ammo for. A handloader can get some very good performance from it since the factory loads are made for 1893 military rifles.

Honestly, I have no NEED for a 38 Super, but find it's history and shootability interesting; in addition, I'm frequently a "sucker" for something a little off the beaten path. I don't shoot competitively. I have cc guns in 45 ACP (Commander and Officer size 1911's, as well as a Kahr CW45) and 9 mm (Kel-Tec PF9). I understand is basically a handloader's project due to limited factory ammo. Doesn't look like many manufacturers currently chamber guns in 1911, either. Doesn't seem logical for me to want one, but........

It's awesome and extremely accurate, the loads my uncle does for me have more heat behind them than a 45

King, I've been trying really hard to get the 38 Super out of my mind, but you're certainly NOT helping things! :-)

I've never really wanted a 38 super just due to the expensive ammo and I don't reload. I have a definite want for a 1911 in 9mm. Particularly the STI Trojan
