I have a single shot crack barrel that belonged to my pow pow that carries a 36" barrel. He called it "Ole Slim" and always talked about how many squirrel that gun had kilt. I am afraid to shoot ole slim these days. It is not in great condition.

my powpow's old single shot H&R made me sick at my stomach when i was about 6 yrs old... Sometimes when he kilted a squirrel the black electrical tape holding the forearm would fall off and he'd have to put it back together...I seented it happen a bunch..

Dad has me PowPow's single shot .32 rifle, that PowPow used to claim he shot hundreds of rabbits and squirrels with, during the depression. Unfortunately, I never saw PowPow hunt, and he reminded me of this guy Alx and I know from West Mun, who talks about "barking" squirrels, meaning shooting the bark underneath them to knock them off the tree, killing them without a mark(ie. PowPow was a bullshite artist). Neat gun with octagonal barrel. IDK who manufacturer was.

Single shot 22 my great grandfather owned, my granddads semi-auto 22, or my dads lever action 22. If i feel like a little more kick i take my break open 410.

I'll probably get laughed out of the OB, but this has always been my favorite. A marlin 12 gauge goose gun with a 36" barrel. We used to hunt creek bottoms with some damn tall water oaks. This thing will reach out and touch em.

And if you ran out of bullets, you can just swat em out the trees with the barrel.

And if you happen to be running around in your pirogue and drop your push pole, you have a handy replacement.

My favorite squirrel guns (right now) are a Ruger 10/22 I bought MANY years ago and a Ruger 77/22. Between those two guns I have a ton of fond hunting memories.

Uh-oh...are we somehow related? That's exactly how my dad had an old 12 ga. sawed-up set up....except he used duct tape. Occasionally had to add additional wraps as the old ones began to fray and get brittle.
