I have a lefty Daiwa Coastal TW (the non SV). It's a great reel. I don't like the feel in hand compared to my Shimanos, so I'll probably sell it. But, the brakes and casting is superb.

I have the Coastal 150 and it's ok. I prefer Shimanos.

I use a Stradic with Daiwa blue super line; great feel and results. I also like my Penn Spinfisher VI 3000 and Penn Battle II 3000.

Didn't know they made such a thing ill have to check them out. I've started liking Penn reels alot since me and my buddies have gotten a few of them. All solid reels at good price points. Nothing fancy but they work.

He's talking about the new low profile baitcasters, not the conventional reels also called the Penn Fathom. Not sure why they used the same name... And the Penn Fathom 2sld are some awesome rig reels and aren't bad trolling eithet.

Correct, Coco. Forgot to make that distinction in my op. It is silly they used the same name for the low profile reels. There is also a squall low profile that Penn makes for inshore but it’s a cheaper version of the new Fathom Inshore Low Profiles

Two outstanding baitcast options for inshore (and fresh)are the Shimano Chronarch G and the Daiwa Coastal TWS.
The Chronarch G is the saltwater friendly version of the Chronarch line.
Outstanding casting ability with a wide range of lure weights. A smoother and better feeling baitcaster than the Daiwa.
The Daiwa is a more user friendly reel as far as set it and forget it. it's a workhorse. The braking system is not as complex as the Chronarch G.
Once you get the Chronarch dialed in......it's a fine reel.
Both options are better-sealed versions of freshwater reels to keep saltwater intrusion to a minimum.

I've got one and enjoy fishing with it. No issues so far, but I also use it less than my Daiwa reels.
