I couldn't kill a dog I knew was someone's pet.
We caught someone who killed one of our deer dogs a couple of years ago, the sherif came and there was a long discussion before nothing was done. Damn near had a killing over that.

And your arse will end up in jail if I catch you. That calf is worth a lot more than your shiteater. But I'm not gonna kill you over it. You need to keep your dog under control.

Good luck with that dude. You're stupid cow ruins my hunt, I'm dropping it.
Did I do that right?
But seriously, how can you say this with a straight face?

I got the winning ticket in front of me. I'm about to high fence our property to keep the dogs out. Don't need anyone calling the FBI on me.

This is interesting to me because you say you will call the police if someone shot one of your loose cows on their property. Justifying your actions based on perceived value. I'm just not sure I understand why you wouldn't take responsibility for your animals being loose. To be perfectly honest, if my dog ran your cows and damaged a fence, I would happily compensate you for any losses, but if you shot my dog I would be eating a lot of free steak

And I'm the insufferable one?

How stupid are you, MF. My cattle are on my property behind a fence. Your dog crawls under the fence and starts the cattle running. A fence will keep calm cattle in the pasture, but when they panic, they will run over anything in their way. Hence, I will shoot a dog. And if there are multiple occurrences, I will load a bunch of chicken wings with something that will take care of them. But I will warn my neighbors that I've put stray dog bait out. They will understand and keep their dogs under control.

No different in principle. What recourse do I have if your cows get in my sweet corn patch?

Call Barf, because his damn dogs ran my cattle through the fence!

My lab doesn't always wear his collar. If someone ever shot him I'd kill his entire family then shoot him the dick and let him live a miserable dickless life
If your dog means that much to you then keep him collard and safe. Its that fricking simple. People with the mentality that their 'dog is like their child" but let them roam and be a nuisance to others are the same shitty people that let their brat of a kid interrupt peoples meals in restaurants or kick peoples seats in movie theaters.
fwiw I wouldn't shoot someone's dog that ruins my hunt. But if it happens continuously I'll catch that fricker and bring him home or to the local shelter. We get a new pet and your irresponsible arse lives the rest of your life wondering what happened to your dog that you failed to care for properly.
In fact, someone dropped their malnourished shite eater at my gate the other day. I tried to run it off and when I came out it was laying next to my 4wheeler. This dog needed a bullet but instead I went to the local Dollar store and bought food and bed. The dog stayed with me a few days at the camp and is now at my house where we will make it a family pet.
Point is, you cant control peoples actions so try and control your pet if you love it as much as you say you do

This.
And I hate it when a dog wonders through my hunting area, but there's a great chance that dog is very important to some family and got loose one day. Just not worth it.

You must not read good.
I'm asking you a question. If your cows get loose, what makes you think you can get someone put in jail for shooting one on their property?
I actually have a neighbor with about 40 beef cows and they occasionally find their way onto our property. I would never kill one of his cows but if he shot my dog I would kill every cow of his that I saw.

How do you know that?
Some people pay upwards of $2000 to be in a deer lease and $300+ for a license not to mention fuel going out of state...
I'm in a relatively cheap lease, and your calf ain't worth half of what I have into this year...

Not to mention that seeing a dog does not mean your whole hunt is royally fricked.
I killed one of my biggest deer in front of a pair of collarless dogs.

That calf is my income, idiot. Not a hobby. And I was talking about a dog, not a deer lease. I wish you would lease my place for hunting. Sounds like you got it broke off hoe handle deep in your arse.

I would shoot your cow if it were on my lawn.

Most of Texas is open range, dumbfrick. That means cattle can roam anywhere. Most of us keep our cattle behind fences for our convenience. Your dog runs them out, I'm still legal. Check it asswipe!
