They really are some cute frickers... that said, we used some type of mix in San Angelo that dad got from somewhere. It looked like kitty litter. We'd put some of that in a dog bowl and then pour sprite or 7up on it and mix it up. They would drink or eat it, walk about 5 yards and then shite themselves and throw up and die. It worked well..
Fly bait. It's illegal to use on anything other than flies, however someone I know has had no success with that method

The kool-aid juice is probably laced with this, and it's bad stuff.
I wonder if the chunk of couch cushion soaked in bacon grease method would work on coons as well as it works on coyotes?

These are both 30 pound coons.
Put 1/2 of the smallest canned catfood in it.
Tractor Supply has two for one package. Medium 32 in. x 12 in. x 10 in. and Small 24 in. x 7 in. x 7 in.
It was marked down five bucks when I bought.
Catch & Release Live Animal Trap, 2 Pack $29.99
Just do Catch, kill, and release.

Twitter video of the downy woodpecker eating peanut butter.
I guess they cut them open at their shop. because they don't leave them in my yard. The chain that was holding it is still there.
I'm in town where I can't shoot them. Thinking about getting some of those Coon cuffs, but I might injure a neighbor's cat.

Good luck. You better find the GOLDEN ticket to get rid of them. I’d guarantee it or my name ain’t MALRIN

How strong does the hold on the dog proof trap need to be.

Oh well then I’ve never used it. But I do know someone who said they’ve used it with tremendous success

Don't use cat food, you will catch cats. And releasing a pissed off cat from a DP will just get you torn up.
Get the bigger marshmallows, Stick one on the trigger, lay one over the opening using some small sticks to keep it from falling in and scatter a few around the trap.
As far a securing the traps in rocky soil, I've cabled quite a few to trees or fallen logs big enough they can't pull them to far.

Real hunters don't need corn, it should be illegal.
Have they linked CWD to feeding deer yet?

Easy solution: pick up your feeders at night. Or, put them on a pole with a raccoon baffle. Problem solved. No more fighting squirrels or raccoons or possums.

Op the only solution to raccoons at feeders is to have the feeders only work during the day so the food is gone before the night. Coons are like coyotes the more you kill the more they seem to breed
