How much do you guys think it should cost to an invisible fence for a dog for 6 acres of land?

I am more scared of some idiot stepping on my property, getting bit,and sueing me. I am getting a German Shepherd so I know if it bites, it won't be a small nip.

I did 12 acres myself with an edger, I don't recommend you follow my example
However sunbelt rents a machine that digs the trench and unspools the wire in one pass, all you have to do is go back and fill the trench
Obviously I was not aware of that at the time

I have an invisible fence system minus the wires that I removed from the house I sold last August. I see you are in BR, it's yours if you are interested.

I hope you got a tractor with a trencher on it. We put one down by hand, about acre and half. Wasn't fun. Tractor supply has 1/2 mile of fence for about 40-50 bucks.

They make a wireless fence that you set up with gps. look into that first.

Did this on two acres. Don't put the wire too deep it will lose some power.
Also if you are concerned about someone stepping on your property and getting bit, how will the invisible fence help?

Actually what I meant is if they start coming towards the edge of the property but they are still on the road. My dog may perceive that as a threat and bite them. It technically wont be seen as them on my property.

I put in about 8 acres and want to say it was around $400. The wire isn't that expensive, but do get a heavier guage. You don't want to be hunting breaks on such a large area.
We rented a trencher that opened a narrow 2" deep cut. Dug the trench, laid the wire, filled in the trench (really just tamped down the dirt), and set up the receiver in about 10 hours over two days. It was a lot of work but gave the dog a large area to roam. It's been a great investment.

We did it for less than a $100 for an acre. I bought a second hand unit that had never been installed for 50 bucks.
It did not work for us i am glad we did not spend to much. Our dog was a free roamer to start and he got in the widow lady's fresh plowed garden and made a race track out of her black eye peas.
Anyway we installed it put the flags out walked him around for three or four days (not long enough i know). It worked pretty good untill one of his neighborhood budies would come by and say lets go play or laugh at him. He sounded like a bobcat screaming running across the line but he would do it anyway. You could not drag him back across even tho it was turned off, we would have to go get him in the truck and ride his stinky arse back. Hope it works better for you.

I had a wifi and it worked great, similar to the Havaheart
