Must be the clips because I've been carrying Spydercos since about 1990 and I've never torn up a pocket yet. What I do have a problem with if I'm not paying attention is scratching my truck right behind the door as I get in and bump it. But I just don't bump it and it's all good.

Also for the Louisiana baws, take a drive to Columbia and check out Knifeworks. They have a big arse showroom with probably more knives than any place in the state.
This is their website to give you an idea of just how much they have there. LINK
Being able to put them in your hand and shop around is worth the drive.

I have 2 spydercos. Both the clips broke. One was only a few weeks old.
They told me I could buy new ones.
My spydercos haven't left the drawer since. I'd buy one for the one I legitimately broke from use I guess. But the other one kind of aggravated me.

I've got a lot of choices but mostly a custom Benchmade Crooked River in 20CV the last few months.

Clips aren't under the warranty because it's a knife and the warranty on the knife stuff is solid. Personally I've changed almost all my spyderco clips to deep pocket aftermarket titanium. It's not expensive and I like them a lot better. Even so, I've done shite to them that required me to take them off and fix them. You will have this problem with every knife with a clip on the market. It's not a thick piece of metal and it won't ever be.

Benchmade will send a free replacement, even a different style or finish if you call them. I've swapped most of mine to deep carry clips and no cost to me. Now they have shorty deep carry clips, have one on my CR and got another for my 940. Much less likely to snag.

I get the one I used for a year or so, but the other was a new knife and less than a month. Wasnt snagged or abused in anyway because it was a pretty knife. Their response just irked me, just sent me a link to buy a new clip. Didnt even address why I contacted them.

I got my Spyderco Polestar in. Its slick. I was concerned about the thickness of the handle, but its not thick at all compared to my buddys Benchmade thats the same size. Time will tell if the blade holds up, but the steel reviews are very positive.

I think BD1N is a great EDC steel, basically a better version of 440C. Sharpens easily to a hair popping edge, very corrosion resistant, tough enough and hard enough to keep its edge. Would like to see more knife makers use it, especially Benchmade to bring the Griptillians back down to a more reasonable price.

My buddy has that same knife. He loves it. I like the size of it. Not too wide.

Great EDC knife! Very thin profile and light weight.
ETA: just realized in my previous post in this thread I kept saying the Bailout was my favorite benchmade when I meant to be saying Bugout.

EDC sale at Field Supply.
Be careful at that place though. I have bought so much crap I forget I even have it.

There's lots of places that make them in a lot of different styles. I like the deep pockets better even on the Native Chief as deep as it goes. Just look up spyderco deep carry clip.
These Lynch clips are great. LINK
