Is carrying a gun in your purse considered concealed carry? Asking for a friend. I would assume yes.

What kind of purse do you carry? Asking for the board

how is a purse functionally different than a range bag?
do you think you're concealed carrying "on your person" with your guns in the bag you carry into the range to shoot?

What happened to the Constitutional Carry Bill in Louisiana?

So has anyone answered this question yet? I thought about the range bag comparison. Gotta be someone on here who knows for sure. How else will I protect myself from the other old ladies?

In MS a purse or briefcase is excluded from having to have a CCL. So legally, it’s not concealed carrying under MS law even though the gun in reality is concealed

If you are in Louisiana, yes, it is considered concealed carry.

So: OK in Mississippi, not OK in Louisiana. Everyone agree with this?

§95. Illegal carrying of weapons
A. Illegal carrying of weapons is:
(1) The intentional concealment of any firearm, or other instrumentality customarily used or intended for probable use as a dangerous weapon, on one's person
What does on one's person mean? Is in a shoulder bag, or purse considered on one's person, what if the same purse or bag is in a shopping cart, or baby stroller, as others have asked carrying a range bag?

So does that include a purse or range-bag? Some states say yes; not sure about Louisiana. Surely range bag doesn't/shouldn't count. What about buying the pistol in a gun store and walking through the parking lot to your care while its in the case it came with?

Are you comparing bringing a bag with a fireman to the range to a dude carrying a purse with a gun into Costco?

Well, yes. How are those things legally different?
Don’t tell me intent. It might be my intent to shoot up the gun range like a wacko.

I shouldn’t have to say this, but the original question was for my wife. Jeesh, you people...

Guns are expected at the gun range. That's the whole reason they exist. Costco is for lady men to shop for meat. It's a pretty different thing.

Gotcha. So there’s a law written down somewhere that says it’s Ok to carry a gun in a bag when you’re headed to the range, but not if you’re headed to a warehouse store?

What about Texas? Anyone know? I'm too lazy to look for it.
