Water is a little above normal. We hunt north of the ICWW - Typically right now, we are loaded with ringnecks - have virtually none, though, as if today. Or any other species of ducks to speak of.

It's weird that the Marsh Club isn't doing better. The Eastside of Houston (Winnie/Anahuac/High Island) area has been doing well in both zones. Usually when the Eastside is doing good, extreme SW LA from Vinton over to Hackberry/Holly Beach is also doing good. I wonder what Hackberry Rod and Gun has been doing?
I live in Monroe now and have been on a few hunts up here. Mostly off of 15 at Woodsland. It was lights out opening weekend but has since petered out to a trickle. My buddies kids have been hunting some public and doing ok. Jones, LA is hit or miss and Little Lafourche Club is only shooting a few teal.

Guns doing well but their new property hasn’t been hunted much the past ten or more years. JB reports have been spotty and I have not talked to any guys with Gun hunting the HB marsh. Opening weekend JB had water over some roads but that should be gone now. Typically after the first split you’ll get a couple weekends before the marsh dies. My homie had two at 7:30 yesterday and finished with a dozen good birds; 4 mals 1 Gray 7 gw. Think he said they had 8 mals total. Lease traditionally kills a lot of mallards.
