If they are available, you don’t want them

If I was willing to spend any money on a lease in Louisiana I would start with a long term mindset and I would look in the northern part of the state - don't plan on finding a productive lease for this season or even the one after because anything worth your money is already taken and will
be held until it sucks or until the guy holding it goes broke. Maybe start with Louisiana Sportsman just to get a sense of what's out there and how much it goes for. Maybe make friends or establish connections with people that may be able to point you in the right direction. Bottom line though - unless the stars align for you and santa loves you, expect to pay up the arse and get much less in return.

If you have to look on a message forum then you are in trouble. Finding a good lease in Louisiana requires two things: money or relationships with connected people, usually both are necessary.

You’re better off learning to hunt public land

I will say this. If you are looking in SELA then you want to look at marsh around lake Borgne or Venice. Those areas will be the most consistent. The good ponds around Lake Borgne go for $8-10,000 a piece and I would imagine Venice is similar. If you can't afford that (or find an opening), then Biloxi marsh will be the best public land alternative.

I’ve seen several duck clubs advertising memberships on duck south group on Facebook

Most in Arkansas.

Look like decent clubs but a lot of people have had crap seasons last 3 yrs and on top of covid economy, stuff is opening up

Jeez, I couldn't imagine paying that. Makes me very thankful for where we hunt.
Sounds like we need to go up.

They’re 15k around here. And that’ll get you 76 teal, 14 spoons, 9 greys, 3 pintails and a mallard.

while we do have a small piece of marsh, the hunting has not been good for a number of years.

My opinion is that if you are willing to spend the kind of money it requires to own/lease a blind or join a club, then you can schedule making numerous hunts with a guide.

It really is. 1.7 ducks per day for the blind.

$145/ Duck

$15,000? That is just insane.

And we are sitting here charging $1200 for a 3000 acre lake with over 80 blinds that kill that.
Not to mention all the other benefits of full lake access that comes with it.

CENLA prices will likely increase due to many Catahoula folk abandoning the lake.

And most of the $15000 blinds are 10 person blinds

Still not a good deal when the blinds are within shouting distance of one another and you are competing for same ducks
