I was dead set on a midsized truck as well, but the cost savings just wasn't there. I drove to Houston and bought a Ram EcoDiesel of all things and couldn't be happier. I got $13k off the sticker.

How's the fuel consumption on it?

Daily 24-25, Highway 28-30.

2016 canyon SLT 2WD. I pulled the trigger a couple of weeks ago. I was happy with the deal I got and after 800 miles am loving the truck. Have not yet pulled my boat, but hooked it up and realized I cant see my boat around the truck, would I be a total beta if I drop the tailgate to launch?

Those are some good looking trucks, congrats.
Get some PVC sticking up next to the fenders, helps backing that empty trailer down.

Very nice man. 4wd?
I'm thinking the Colorado might be my next truck, but that'll be 5 years from now and they will probably be totally different.

I noticed that on the Colorado after I installed the Backflip (ain't got time to open all that).
Learned to use the mirrors, and I leave the anchor light inserted so I can see a reference point. My next trailer should have guides to help see.

How is the ride? I know it still needs to be broken in, but what type of gas mileage are you getting so far? Got any interior pics?

Nice truck. Congrats. BTW I always drop the gate when launching by myself. Doubt anyone notices.

I do plan on a 20ft bay boat in a few years, but for now I have a 16ft aluminium boat.
Rides well, I find the seats comfortable, wife does as well. My first truck, and I am coming from an SUV so it is a bit bumpy, but still nice ride. First tank I averaged 20MPG for the tank, filled by the dealer I don't know what kind of gas or if it was topped off. I filled up halfway through my 2nd tank so wont know the mileage until next fill up. The computer shows 23 on this tank with a best of 26MPG. I usually do the math myself when tanking up.
