We went to the pediatrician today and everything checked out good. He's good and healthy. We have to wait until Dec 2 for the next run of tests with the neurologists.

He sleeps all day and stays awake all night, which is wearing me out. But coming from where he's come from, I won't complain about a couple sleepless nights.

here's a couple of pics my Mom took yesterday. She's getting into photography. I told her to get all these fruit pictures out the way early...

I hope you won't think this question is too intrusive. How are yall doing finacially? Did insurance cover nearly everthing or did it leave yall holding the bag for a big bill?

I think we'll be okay. My wife is a teacher and supposedly everything should be covered under her insurance. I hope so, because he had 2 nurses at a time watching him, 24 hours a day for the first week. I curious to see the total bill.

The thing I am a little worried about is the rehab, if he does require any. I'm pretty sure the insurance will cover all of the initial expenses, but I'm not sure how much they cover for rehab.

People have offered donations, but we told them to hold off, because we really haven't encountered any financial hardships. We're both still getting paid, and haven't incurred any additional, unexpected expenses.

That is great news. If your insurance covers everything up to this point you should be very very happy.

If you do encounter issues, contact me back channel by email. I would love to help.

Thanks. I appreciate it. Good to know their are still good folks out there.

On another note, when my Mom was a couple months pregnant for me, my Dad was found to have a cyst on his brain. They removed it, which left him paralyzed on his left side, and he had to go through months of PT. Their insurance covered 80% of the first $100,000, and then everything after that. In 1985, $20,000 was a good chunk of change. Especially for someone who wouldn't be able to return to work for at least a year. My Mom didn't work, and she had a 3 year old, a 1 year old, and me in the womb. They were also 90% finished on constructing a new home.

They had a big benefit in our hometown and enough money was raised to cover their bills.

I don't forsee us having to take this route, but it's nice to know that there are people out there that care. My wife was in grad school, but took an incomplete this semester and will consider continuing next Fall. I'm currently in grad school as well, but we are both working (well I am, and she has maternity leave, and qualifies for a full 12 week leave).

You are very welcome.

Sadly, it is not uncommon for families to reach insurace lifetime benefit limits with a child in the NICU for extended periods of time.

It is always refreshing to know my money is going where I want it to go instead of redistribution without my control to persons who care little about themselves and less about their children.

Trevor is doing good today. He slept a little more last night, which was good for me.

Mrs Slick is doing really good. The school board approved her 12 week maternity leave, so she won't have to go back until after the Christmas holidays.

I'm doing pretty good. I missed my last two classes for school so I'm pretty behind. With this course, it it almost impossible to catch back up when you're behind, but I'm about to bust arse to do it. Had my final this past Saturday that I have to make up, plus homework assignments, case studies, and a written test to make up before Saturday. I already missed enough work, so I can't really take off for school. Oh well, I guess I'll start drinking coffee again.

Good news with Trevor. I hope you can get caught back up with your school stuff!

Hang in there man, sounds like you're doing a damn fine job with it so far
