Dad, LSUCouyon, got my 2 step-brothers and I together for a fishing trip down in Delacroix. We have never been able to get the 4 of us together for a trip like this. We have been together for over 20 years but the Navy, careers, kids and moving among other things have never afforded us the opportunity. Dad agreed to pay for the lodging down at Sweetwater and the fishing with Capt. Jack Payne, we paid everything else.

Anyway, after an awesome lunch at Chimes in Covington we made our way on down to Sweetwater. We talked things over with Capt Jack and were off Sat. morning at about 6:30. The fishing started a little slow on the first 2 spots and we hit the 3rd spot with about 20 trout in the boat. By 10:20 we were done! 125 trout, 4 reds, 2 black drum and a bass. we had an absolute blast! Jack is a first rate guide and guy. Everyone we ran into had great things to say about him. The trip was something I will remember for the rest of my life.

Thanks, LSUCouyon!!

Sound like y'all had a great time. My brother that lives down there has been all over my case to go fishing with him.

Looks like a great time, the fact that you were able to add fish to the box made it even better...

The rooms are great. Very well maintained and super clean. I do wish that they had stoves for longer stays.

Bumped because I couldn't get on yesterday after it was posted. I wanted to tell everyone also about Sweetwater and Capt. Jack. Great guy and good guide. Made the trip a blast and knows what he's doing.

Thanks, Webfoot for posting it. It was a true "homecoming" especially for one of the guys. You and your stepbrothers made this the best fishing trip,(and there have been many!) of my life.
To all others, may the coming holidays be enjoyable and special. Ours will be.
