I plugged it in before going to bed, and the little light was green when I woke up.

Just ordered 5 of them.

What size are those batteries? They look like AA batteries. Am I off on scale here?

If they are the same size, would spare AA's work as backup?

Thanks.

What size are those batteries?

Shaped like a Double A but much larger.... Think two double a's in width and two in length.

I just found:

the Cree is 180mm long and weighs 160 grams.

That's 7.08 inches long and weighs 0.35 lbs. I bet that is without batteries. Impressive none the less.

I'm excited to get these lights in and see what they can do!!!!!!!

So the Cree 500 Lm LED light on eBay (from Hong Kong) only costs $10, but shipping is $13, correct?

Got mine in today, definitely worth the price. I was able to find a US shipper selling them for $20 with free shipping.

Well guys I got mine in yesterday and let it charge all night - NOTHING. I swapped the batteries hoping that that was the issue but if not I just took a $23 arse kicking via Hong Kong.

ETA-I proceeded to use the car charger on the way to the office this morning and the POS started smoking.

You have one of the headlamps? How bright are they/how do they perform. Are they bright enough for frogging. Either way I could use a headlamp at least for dragging a deer back to the 4 wheeler.

Last time I had to do that by myself I has TP hold the flashlight in my mouth to see where the hell I was going. It was an adventure.

Did you try sending an e-mail to the seller? Also make sure you have the battery in the correct way. If I remember right, the + end goes in first. It took me a while to figure it out, but the diagram was on the little rubber plug that covers the charger hole.

Good luck getting it replaced, but a lot of these sellers want to maintain their high % of positive feedbacks.

Anybody know where you can buy the 18650 batteries? I can order them from Hong Kong but I would rather buy locally for something like batteries.

I got a refund last night and ordered one from the guy out of California yesterday morning. Thanks for the battery tip - I'll reinspect it tonight.
