A few of our simple ones:

3 stands per person
No alcohol outside camp perimeter
No loaded guns in camp - guns must be secured
5 guests per season
Members only on opening weekend (gun / bow / youth)
Heavy equipment is on site for 2 wknds per year you want to cut or till plan to work
Box stands in place by last day of september (after this only ladder and climbers allowed)
6pt or better, one buck of choice (if you screw up), does not apply to youth.
DMAP - one extra doe tag per guest - if you need more see the secretary they are available.

Thats about it.....

The club my family has been in since before I was born has basically the following:

1) Guest passes are $20 a day, if they kill it goes toward your deer, and they aren't allowed during the rut.

2)you get 2 does, 2 8point or better, and one at least 14" inside.

3)Does can be killed anytime but December 1-Jan 1 (for rut purposes. Too many dumb asses were shooting the doe getting chased)

4)No joyriding during the season, no riding at night.

They basically browned its down from before I was born until about '98 or so then they went to 4" spike, then to 4pt or better, then 6pt or better. It really depends on how well the health of your population. Get with a biologist and ask him what he recommends as far as harvest rules.

One of your members shoots someone or falls from a stand drunk and their family or the victims family sue you...nothing wrong with only have alcohol at the camp when the guns are put up, especially when kids are around...

When yall lease a property, do you purchase some kind of liability insurance? Or is that even a good idea?

Yes - our land owner requires it to remove his liability if someone gets hurt. Each member also signs a waiver releasing the land owner from any responsibility.

I would not get in a club that had this rule. The main reason I am in a club is because of my kids.

I don't know where this is located but I would start out the gate with atleast a 6pt or bigger rule and increase to 4 on one side or 3 1/2 year old.

2 work days and $50 fines fro no shows.

No entering or leaving stand from 30min before daylight to 10am and 3pm to dark. This pisses me off more than anything. People who don't get in their stand until the sun is coming up or leave before it gets dark.

Absolulty no joy riding during deer or turkey season.

Yeah I would never be in a club I couldn't bring my kids with me everytime I went.
