I'm talking about from an actual meat perspective, that looks like more meat that 7 people could eat within a years time. They might give a lot of it away, which is fine. Just my thoughts.

Hurricane you have no idea wtf you talking about. That split 7 ways is not a ton of fish if you break it down. I don't guess you eat much fish or have ever been on a great offshore trip(you do much offshore fishing??) I eat fish at least 3x per week(snapper, tuna,aj etc). If these 7 guys eat fish twice a week cooking for 4 people they will run out way quicker than you think. You sound like a complete moron.

Dang good trip OP.

Did they only have true 4/0’s or did they have some better rods and reels also? Fishing a 4/0 for 2 full days would wear your arse out.

They did eventually get out some Torium 30's and a couple of Internationals. I don't know if they wanted to see if we knew anything about fishing before they broke out better gear or what. I'll tell you this, cranking up from the bottom in 500' is a hell of a lot easier with a Toriums retrieve rate than a 80's Penn 4/0

Capt. Mike was awesome and kept us laughing and reeling nonstop. We will probably do this trip again next year and I will bring a few of my own rods and reels. I did bring a Saragossa 8K on a Terez rod and did some jigging with it on the 2nd and 3rd day. Deep dropping with the Shimano Beastmasters was very nice, they have alot more arse to them than I would have thought.

No wire leader, strait mono while AJ fishing in 300 ft. Most impressive catch of the trip. 66" long 25" girth weighed in at 67 lbs. Check out the hook placement and leader, You lose that fish at least 99 times out of 100
MobileJosh, you are correct about Capt. Mike. Great dude, I hate I just met him and he is retiring in November.

I don't have to ability to offshore fish no. Also I'm not a big fish eater so only eat fish like once per month. More of a shellfish person.
