You aren't worried about that green algae stuff in the lake?

Not at all. Boiled them today. 499 degree water and cayenne = no bacteria.

Saw ton of people crabbing from bank and from boats today while I was fishing Bayou Lacombe. I should’ve went crabbing instead bc the fish weren’t biting

The Louisiana Department of Health suggests you don't eat fish or seafood where the algae is located because it can make you sick with rashes or nausea.

I mean I get the thinking that it will boil out, but even though I lovr crabs im not taking the chance.

We were the 2nd people out there. Got there at 6:40. Caught about 80 crabs that were too small and threw them to the other side of the road. Kept a little over 3 dozen.

Don't throw toothpicks in the toilet. Crabs can pole vault.

Which side were yall catching so many on? Driving in, almost everyone I saw was on the right side but down by the launch a bunch of people were crabbing on the bayou side

I didnt get out there until around 2:30. If yall were still out there I was in the yellow kayak.

I didn’t see any of the algae until I got almost to the mouth of the bayou leading into the lake. Once I saw green algae up against the grass I turned around and went back north

We used to go out in the afternoon and hit the left side back in the day.

Always had a good time with everyone else out there.

I dropped 3 nets by the wiers and caught a couple. I fish in the main bayou. If you can stand to catch 1 every 3 nets or so but nicer then fish right in the middle of the bayou. Lots of smaller ones closer to the banks. I had a few that stretched out over 16 1/2" claw to claw.
