Correct. We crab every weekend during the summer on the beach mid island. The last 4 weekends we may have totalled a dozen. Even scratched one weekend.

This past weekend had 48 crabs on a 36 hour soak from 20 traps in the bay. Was very slow.

You are not going to catch a ice chest full of crabs unless its when the females are dropping off their eggs at the beaches. The peak of this lasts 2-3 weeks. When you hear the crabs are running, get to the beach the next weekend.

I caught a dozen a day total from 4 traps I put in the bay over the past couple days.

My buddy set up his traps close to the rocks on the island side of the bayside rocks. 10 traps and he had 30 crabs mostly males. Set them out Wed and picked them up yesterday.

Went last weekend and had traps off the pier in the bay. Only caught little ones too small to keep. Have never seen it that bad.

I’ve spent 4 weekends this summer on the beach. Never seen solid traps. 5-10 here, 50 yards later, 5-10 more. Etc.

Waters too clear. I was there midweek and lawd it’s clear on the beach. I think im gonna visit rockafella soon.
