Going this week to run some crablines off Elmer's Island beach. Any tips or recent reports? Definitely a weekday. Haven't done this in years. Taking the kids so any suggestions/tips/reports appreciated!

crabs always feed better in mornings unless there was a full moon and clear skies the night before

It's starting to die out on the beach.

I find they bite better when it's a little rougher.

Why not go buy some? I hear you can pick up a dozen live for only $30 or $40

front = beach
probably 5-6 dozen, enough to boil then I quit running them. Make sure you do it in the morning because when I tried in the evening it was slow

Going tomorrow, will report.
Its kinda like going to the bar, its much cheaper to drink at home, but its Grand Isle, I have a pretty good chance at catching crabs...

Went crabbing at Elmer's yesterday. Skunked. East wind and rough surf. Checked out Grande Isle State Park, mosquitoes there so bad we were killing em in the truck still in Baton Rouge. No fish either.

Wind from the East, fish bite the least...
