Bumping this.

What is the difference in the p365, p365xl and p365 macro?

Small, medium, and large.

With flush fit mags
P365 holds 10
Xl holds 12
Xmacro holds 17

Xl and Xmacro are the same length, xl is slightly easier conceal due to its shorter height.

I have a p365 for T-shirt carry and the Xmacro for polo/buttondown/winter carry.

How do you decide what type of concealed carry holster to get and how good the holster fits the pistol? I have a S&W M&P 9mm Shield.

Trial and error basically.

IWB is easier to conceal but you have to find one that’s comfortable which is hard.
OWB is harder to conceal but way to more comfortable to me.

In the winter in normally use OWB as I have jacket or pullover on.
Summer is the hardest. (I’m planning to get a better pocket pistol p938)

All comes down to how much you want to spend and method of carry.

Belly bands are fairy universal to accommodate most handguns and magazines.

Appendix/waistband are typically weapon specific, as are shoulder and ankle holsters.

Stoeger STR9MC
Bulldog sleeve

But I would consider a .22LR with punch ammo as well.

Something to be said for putting 6-8 rounds in a quarter size target.

I might get the STR9MC or C just to see what all the fuss is about. I hear it’s an incredible value

I have smaller hands (I know) so it fits well to me.

It shoots really well for a $350 gun

As already said, a lot of it is trial and error. I don't like ankle carry. I like front pocket carry for a true pocket gun as I mentioned earlier. For larger guns, I now prefer OWB. I started w/ IWB. As I got more comfortable w/ cc (and realized that no one was looking at me and no one realized I was cc) I tried OWB and found I prefer it, regardless of the time of year. During the summer, I OWB cc w/ a loose fitting dark t shirt or a button up fishing type shirt (counting from the bottom, I button the 2nd and 3rd buttons). I prefer leather over Kydex. I don't cc IWB much anymore.
For IWB holsters I like Side Guard Holsters..
For OWB I like the Okami or SW Special Snap On from Ronin Leather.
