That’s what I have been saying about the current vehicle market. It makes no sense to trade in a truck because “they gave me $3k over what I paid” but yet spend $10k more on the vehicle because of low inventory

Sounds like Toyota, long in the tooth and NOT more reliable from a mechanical standpoint. They have less incidences of repairs because they are using old technology that has had all the kinks worked out. I'd prefer a kink here and there (which is rare) than have a dated vehicle if I was buying new. You mileage sucks because Toyota hasn't gone up in gears like every other manufacture on the planet. 8 and 10 speed transmissions are the norms on trucks now.

I have an 04 Tundra. It does not have the bells and whistles of a Ford truck. I think it rides well and it has a lot of highway miles on it. The Fords ride very well too, and may have a softer ride. The turning radius is wider on the Tundra and the gas mileage is not as good. What is really good about the Tundra is that I've only done basic maintenance on it and it's close to 300k miles and going strong.

I think my 5.0 in the F150 averaged 18 MPG.

I bought a 2019 F-150 Super Crew XLT LWB w/5.0 Coyote V-8 on Memorial Day 2019 - driven 14,730 miles and averaging 20.2 mpg - 60% local/around town - 40% interstate cruising at 75 mph w/AC blasting (average 22.3 mpg on interstate) - also about 1k miles towing a boat. Love the truck - a little worried about the 10 speed transmission but so far, so good.

I have a 2016 Tundra. You’re right, tundra is not as comfortable as the others. It’s more “trucky” which is a reason I like it.

You drive so little that reliability shouldn’t be a concern.
