I have one Columbia shirt and was in Academy yesterday to get a long sleeve for this hot arse weekend we were supposed to be fishing.
They had a $70 Columbia Air gill shirt.
I just couldn't pull the trigger as much as I liked the shirt.
Got a Magellan for $25 and picked up a new ice chest for less than that shirt would have cost.
What do you think about other name brand fishing shirts?
Saw Under Armor is making fishing shirts too now. They looked pretty sweet but was the same price as Columbia.

get the polyester long sleeve shirts for fishing....way cooler than the button downs. I have a couple of columbias i got on sale but the H2O shirts at academy would work just fine.

I dont buy the fishing shirts with the cargo short pockets on them anymore. Go for the $20 columbia omni-wick tees.

I always buy Magellan now. I can't justify paying that price for columbia either.

Nothing wrong with Magellan. That's why I wear. Great brand for the money IMO.

I looked closely at the buttons on the Magellan.Maybe you god a different model shirt that I got because the buttons on this shirt don't have threads holding them on They're snap buttons.

I have both Columbia and Magellan.

Yes - the Columbia are more expensive but they are also better shirts with a better fit. I have found that Academy does not always have a very good selection of Columbia. Bought two Columbia Bahama long sleeve shirts and two pair of shorts on Columbia's website. Shirts were 45 and shorts were 40. Shipping was 6 bucks.

I can do Magellan but rather Columbia and underarmour. Whatever brand, it has to be that underarmour/pfg type material. The cheap magellan shirts (and even the cheaper pfg) don't do it for me in the summer heat. I have a couple worldwide sportsman shirts from BPS made out of that cotton material and I only use them when it's cooler, they don't breath for shite compared to a plain ole cotton t-shirt.

I have been fishing in these. you can get them from eastbay for $15. They are light and come in a variety of colors.

I also buy Magellan over columbia.

Most of the time in the summer I end up just wearing a layer of sunscreen by the time the trip's over. And shorts, of course. I wouldn't fish naked. Too much of a risk when using treble hooks
