anyone have any reports from the youth weekend? From what I've heard, Southeast Louisiana wasn't too promising, but its still pretty early. Next weekend, can't come fast enough

I would like to hear some as well.

Only saw a few flights around Reggio/hopedale area fishing. Either way Saturday morning can't come soon enough

I took lil cootkilla to the lease in Dularge. Saw 5 dogris, 4 greys, 2 teal and 3 wood ducks. He killed one pouledeau that swam to the decoys.

Up river or down river? We didn't fire a shot on the south end of Delta near Pass A Loutre. Maybe saw 100 ducks total flying all morning and none were coming near us. Would normally see a couple thousand on that part of Delta. Checked at least 8-10 spots that normally have ducks and saw maybe 50 ducks.

Reports I got from Delacroix were solid, mostly teal of both varieties with a few grays.

Up river. They thick teal like mesquitos had em coming in the spread in bunches of 25-50. Held off on shooting em to kill some big ducks

Damn, I went and scouted down river on Friday and only saw 12 total ducks. Y'all must have been up closer to venice.

Went to Reggio on Sunday, saw one little flock of teal early...nothing else. No grass, not looking good.
I still think they open up too soon

Gotta find the feed baws if you want birds... I was very impressed with the amount of birds around us we limited out within 30 minutes. I wish these flyway federation idiots could have seen the amount of birds I saw sat morning. Would have definitely changed their opinion on the lack of birds in LA

You should see the birds stacked in the corn in South Dakota

Louisiana doesn’t have birds. Good trolling though.

Louisiana definitely has birds buddy. There were enough birds in my area to give me easy limits for the rest of the season and it’s only gonna get better as the season goes on and more cold fronts push down.

Best feed we have had in two years down river on public land, but still not many ducks. Last two years, numbers have been up near Baptise Collette and only pushing down river on public land in big numbers on hard cold fronts. Ducks to be killed down river but you are going to have to hunt them hard and hunt the cold fronts.

2015, took my son and a friend of his and shot easy limits on October 31 and November 1. Last season that was productive for us. 2016, 2017 and so far 2018 have been pretty terrible.

LOL, if you think any spots you scouted in Venice before the season officially opens will provide “easy” limits all season. Just wait until the mud-baw fleet shows up Thursday/Friday.

Hahaha

This front coming through end of the week should be legit and bring new birds. Looks like another early next week as well with some punch
