Who yall recommend for trip to Chandalier Islands charter and best time to go? I have a buddy wanting to put together a trip in August, but debating if we should wait later into fall, but also later into hurricane season... I've never been.

ETA - this is for overnight/weekend deal. Group of 6-10. Stay on mothership, etc...

Are you wanting just a day trip or are you talking over night?

Jeremy McHugh/Stillwater Charters out of Gulfport can work up both - he partners/runs with DMJ Charters if you want to do an overnight.

This is the big question.

If you dont have. Group of 6-12 then your best bets are Capt Kyle Johnson for a day trip.

If you want to DIY in your own boat and stay overnight look into Chandeleur Islander

This is who my buddy is looking into. Good to hear.

Updated original post. This would be for overnight/weekend. Group of 6-10.

100% go with DMJ. If you're going in August, tell them to bring Capt. McHugh along as August is prime Tarpon time to the North and South of where they generally anchor. Jeremy is a hell of a tarpon fisherman, if y'all are looking for something to add to the speckled trout beat down.

Theophile used to run sea planes out there. RIP good buddy.

Does Southern Seaplanes still charter to the Chandeleur Islands?

Hell I’d rather chase tarpon than speckled trout. I might have to go do that!

Mchugh has really dialed them in along the coast. DMJ is a jam up operation too. Been on the boat a few times and it’s always a blast.
