Online application filled out and submitted on 6/19/2014. I went 6/25/2014 with $10 money order to get finger prints done at LSP Headquarters. This morning (6/26/2014) I received my email stating that I have passed. It included a link to pay online. They included a $3 convience charge ($128 total). Hopefully, I will receive it soon in the mail. I will update when I receive it.

I did not have to give a passport photo and did not have to do the notary portion.

Submitted mine online and mailed off digital prints yesterday as well. Hope this new online deal streamlines the process.

Jacob:
Please send me an email once you get your permit. I'm very interested in seeing how smoothly the new system works.

Just called again and they now say they are backed up 3-400 apps instead of the 200 like they have been telling me since January

Will do. I did mine the online way, and had Wesley submit his conventionally so that we could compare the two time frames.

That sucks! Where did you submit your application? Surprised by this, took Dawgs class around November timeframe and submitted the week after in BR(no on-line available at the time). Received permit almost one month to the date later which surprised me based on what I was hearing at the time.

So regarding the on-line application, no pic needed anymore?

Even though its lifetime, you still have to do the class every five years. Yes in the long run you save but that will take 20yrs just to break even. Not sure I'll be around that long. haha.

At LSP hq. I have an arrest or two that got dropped, so they need to look it over, but this is absurd

No, they pull your drivers license picture. I just showed ID when finger printing.

^^^^ This.

And as was mentioned, no more getting forms notarized if you file online.

Damn i had no idea that there was an online application. I let my permit expire in february and need to retake the class. I still don't know why they need finger prints again since i am already in the system from having a license from 2010-2014

I submitted my application on 6/21 and got fingerprinted at LSP a few days later. Paid online once the fingerprints went through. 7/08 I got an e-mail my application was approved and will be getting the card in the mail 10-15days later.

ETA: Got my card in the mail today 7/11.
