I don’t even see how you would argue this.

Easily. 22LR has put just as many or more people 6ft under as any other round.

It’s lethal. Check the gel tests vs 9mm

Then compare accuracy at 5-10 yards and recoil. Watch this Short comparison

Also the most unreliable round you can find.

Sure, if you buy the cheap bulk. Get some CCI Stingers

I don’t know why people fight me on this. Like it’s questioning your masculinity

A well aimed direct shot by a rock can put a human down.

i'd trust a .22 if you tell me I'm getting a headshot.

And way more have walked away from a 22 LR shot than a 9mm. The energy difference is like double. I'm not taking a chance that someone walks right through getting shot. 9mm recoil is easily manageable with enough power. Just practice.

As far as a recommendation for a gun, as concealable as you can get so that you actually don't mind carrying, but large enough that you enjoy shooting it. If you aren't willing to go to the range regularly, do you really want to protect your life with it. I have the Hellcat Pro right now. They just came out with a ported barrel version to help control recoil. Looks awesome.

It’s not about lethality. It’s about the ability to immediately stop the threat. If the attacker is shot but continues to attack/shoot me, and dies a few minutes later then that really doesn’t make a difference.

This guy does a good job talking about .22 caliber as a defense round.

however there isn’t anything you can do to that gun to make it perform like a single action semi-auto handgun….its for that reason alone that I recently switched to a SA EMP 3 9mm 1911 for my EDC

I loved my EMP, until it started having reliability issues. Sent it back to Springfield a couple times. It was working pretty good but I always had the nagging feeling that it might have issues again, so I got rid of it. Honestly, I’ve had a hard time finding a better carry gun than a p365.

Canik MC9 is what I got when I wanted a slim 9mm. I’ve been very happy with it. Way better trigger than any other subcompact I’ve tried.

I like 22lr and I like my Ruger LCR, but OP wants a 9mm. I sometimes carry a Ruger LCR (38spl) in front pocket but there’s no denying my Canik MC9 is easier to shoot accurately

Yes that is a concern, but I’ve put 700-800 down range so far with 1 FTF on a Federal HST. I’ve never had any issues with any ball ammo I’ve put through it.

I’m about to test it running Underwood Xtreme Defender….since it’s not a jacketed hollow point I’m hopeful it will feed and eject with the reliability of FMJ rounds.

ETA I’ve shot a P365 and the trigger is way better than Glocks, but it’s not a single action trigger LOL. If I ever feel that I can’t rely on the EMP to run correctly I’ll try a Colt Defender first probably.
