Someone gave me a charter trip as a gift. Kind of wished I had just brought my boat instead. Water was real clean. We probably stayed within a mile of bridgeside. Likely used about 3 gallons of fuel which was kind of disappointing.

I'd give my left nut for a trip to GI these days. Looks like a nice trip!

It was ok. The captains really trying to save fuel. They raised their price already to factor it in. Only bad thing about it.

Which is BS for an inshore trip. Most inshore boats are getting 4-5 mpg a lot of times and most guys aren't running 50 miles a trip even on a long run, that's $50 in gas for a $600/ trip after tip.

We were definitely under 5 gals. Stayed within 1 mile of bridgeside. Barely got on plane at all. He does 7 trips per week
probably doesn't have to full up for 2 weeks . Nice guy though and fun to be around. Wasn't all bad. I guess if anyone is booking a trip ask these questions before you do.

I'm not gonna say. It wasn't a bad trip. Just seems like the business model.

Left at 6. Came back at 7 for a quick rain shower. Back out until 1. Hit about 3 spots.

Sounds like he didn't even burn 2 gallons.

Beats what I did yesterday at work though....

Yeah I’d be a little disappointed considering all the other fish I’ve seen getting caught down there.

Man weve been smashing the trout all over GI. Were traveling a lil further, but its still VERY fuel efficient. I wish he would have put yall on some more fish because theyre all over right now.

A little when the rain came through. Really calmed down and water stayed real clean. Not bad at all really. Maybe about 10 mph

I don't know anything about Grand Isle but its funny to watch some of the guides where I'm at. I launched at a place 2 guides I know also launched at 6 am. 2 boats from a well known area guide service also were at the marina. Those 2 specific boats never left the mouth of the cove and sat there for at least 4 hours with never moving while everyone else was already back cleaning fish.

There was a group of them and they called each other often. Some of the boats were right near us. I heard we did the best though. I do try to fish once per week or so in the summer and I know if we moved around more we could have doubled our catch.

Same, I'd be disappointed as well. I mean that's an ok box of fish if he busted his arse for yall And did some running to try to put you on them but if he stayed within a mile or so of the marina he didn't really put much effort in.

And the trips are close to $1k now. It's not cheap.
