Haven't seen one this small. I am a pretty casual fisherman though, so I apologize if this is nothing exciting. I just thought it was cool.

Guy that owns the pond told me to kill it and throw it away since he didn't want it in his pond, but I just took it to a bayou near my aunt's house and dumped him in there.

I see them that size way more than big ones.

That's what I thought

Oh well. I'm a hunter, not a fisherman. I'll revel in the glory of my gar for a few mins then move on.

When that size, how do you tell alligator from spotted?

Come on, dude, don't come in here trying to test my fisherman's knowledge like you do with everyone on snake IDs. I already admitted I'm a novice fisherman, and I have no idea as to the answer of your question. I'm not out to try and look like I'm some master. In my fishing naivete, I thought it was cool, so I posted. I highly respect your ID skills and experience, but please refrain from it for this. I'm just a casual fisherman.

If you were really asking because you did not know, then I apologize. I'm just going off of your past tactics.

Either way,

Damn dude. You protect too much. I have no idea, and that is the only reason I asked.

BTW, I dispute your claim of,

I just see snake/tree/fish and post what I think it is. I am often wrong. Just like everyone else.

Am I seeing things, or is there ice in that cooler? So you put him on ice, then let him go? If he survived, he has some crazy stories to tell his friends.

Everyone's wrong occasionally. Hard when you have to judge from shitty phone pics From what you say and from the OB grapevine, you are the apparent resident expert, though. Once again, sorry for the hostility.

I am assuming it does not develop spots until it gets bigger?

I've had a bass on ice slush like that for a couple hours and revived him
