Yeah it wasn't fun, poor guys where white knuckling the rails. Started dragging baits out there and our props came out the water a couple times, guys were banging around just trying to move on boat so I picked up and headed north.

5-10 knot winds; 1-3 foot seas.

Thanks. I saw a high was moving over the gulf and that should keep it pretty flat. However, being a freshwater guy mostly I know high pressure is not great for fishing. I would assume the same for bluewater fish, no?

We will be fishing it. Was suppose to chase Pelagic's but a blown powerhead is may stand in our way.. Looks like we may be chasing trout instead

We'll be there.. Chasing trout and reds also. Fishing out of dulac, heading to the rigs. We should win the trout division.

No doubt. I just sent that to the guys running to Venice and they aren't putting Calcutta money now. I'd keep your plans on the DL, it's costing you money.

A little late, cats out of the bag. A friend I know of won last years GI Tarpon Rodeo trout division by riding to Venice and back. Came in second for STAR southeast trout.

We didn't head for blue water on Saturday, but we went out Saturday to the domino rigs and it was one of the calmest days we fished all year. Of course we were back in the pass in Venice by 1130.
