If people invest that much time and energy out there, why not build a solid blind with some heavy padlocks to keep people out

Because they will burn it. Keep up, son.

Like I said earlier, I think it is best if I stay away. From the sound of it there seems to be an abundance of uneducated cocky asshats down there. I have a sketchy past of not fitting in or getting along with such dumbassery.

i used to love going out there on opening day. Stock Landing looked like the D-Day invasion, with all the boats and four wheelers moving around on the lake, plus hundreds of rednecks and coonasses just walking out there with shotguns pass shooting. There's a dude with gun standing next to every small cypress tree. I was always surprised no walkers ever got run over by all the airboats.

Where we launched from. There were only a handful of groups hunting the morning we were out. I think it was because the only thing on the lake was Cans (we did end up with some Green and teal too as well as 3 limits of Cans).
Cicero could have had a field day jumping blinds that morning.

Catahoula hands down.
This little feller sits at the base of the red river bridge when you cross the red from Avoyelles.

I go once a year in the evening with some guys who hunt it and I leave and never return till the following year. It's not near as bad in the evening and crushing the mallards in those button willows is pretty fun.
Oh and as far as opening day goes, they have a lil hole off of hwy 28 on the right just before the diversion. If any of you fine gents want to give it a try you will mash them. I promise.

I wonder where the term Cicero came from?

Before the Arkie green jeans got really involved with the boat race, I would say close to even but the race has been toned down and the rules have made the Metro a lot more civil.

I've never had issue but I stayed out of the roofless rednecks "blinds"

Farad- that is insane that the guy quotes in that thread that he will call the game warden, on speed dial, and have you peacefully removed from his blind.
You can't win against that.

Classy guy that some man will be proud to call him his SIL.

After reading this thread I kinda want to go hunting there just to piss the locals off

Well, I suspect that the first person to practice the art of blind jumping had an odd cleft in his nose, resembling a chick-pea. The folks from Deville being erudite and well versed in the classics, later realized his arguments had been derivative and unoriginal, but aving forgotten to get his name, they decided to name him after a similarlty nosed Roman philosopher.
