Put in work on blinds on public land and get mad when the public is in said blind...

I'd understand public land/use laws/etiquette of first come first serve and move along to another spot. Also I'm 31 years old and have not been in a fist fight since high school because, well I grew up and am not trashy.

ETA, I'd also wish them a good hunt and offer any advice they may need on hunting the spot as far as typical flight times and such, pay it forward/karma and all.

I wouldnt be dumb enough to invest that much time or effort on a blind on a public lake. I would think "self, this is a public lake, this could be hunted by any one"

I would not think, If someone hunts "my" blind I will threaten them. I am sure that good ol boy has torched many a blind others have spent their time and money building.

Well Catahoula could probably use more nice guys like you then. Not everyone gets along like that out there though. Nature of the location I guess.

The sad thing is the nice guys like me are all too scared/threatened to hunt out there on the public lake that we maintain/pay for with our tax dollars because johnny law/good ole baws like your guide buddy are fricking assholes.

So maybe if someone removed the assholes ability/right to be assholes, the lake would be infused with the "nice guys" and the duck hunting would improve for all

Sounds like the blind builder should have people sleeping out there to guarantee a place to hunt the following day...

What makes you ask this? I would think those are not common there.

3 days, 6 man limit out of same blind all three days. Not one single ring neck. Mostly big ducks with some teal.

I am probably going to need to see some pictures to believe that.

I am DEFINITELY going to need to see some pictures to believe that.

I really don't disagree with you. There is a reason my dad and I don't hunt out there anymore. It's really more trouble than it's worth, but at the same time I'm not going to blame someone for protecting a blind that they have put in work on for decades.

It comes down to this. The state should have probably never allowed permanent blinds. It should have been made a first come first come serve each morning with temporary blinds and standing in the trees as the only ways to hunt, but they didn't. Now there are people who have been working on blinds they have had out there for multiple generations, and I don't blame them one bit for protecting their blind and spot.

These aren't your normal Catahoula blinds. I know of multiple people out there who shoot nothing but big ducks and teal. Hunted out of a blind with friends out there last year, and they shoot tons of greenheads and pintails.

Because all of the reports I have heard off of Catahoula this season have been divers with spurts of teal and pintail showing up. And that's just the folks who are actually shooting a few.

Not saying it didn't happen, but I am going to need to see some receipts for someone claiming 108 big ducks in 3 days from a blind on Catahoula.

eta: I see his talking about last year. That makes this substantially more believable.
