my yard looks like hell after the flood and the rain. i didnt flood(house) but my yard was just so saturated that it started to kill my good grass. now this shite is starting to take over. ive just started using the conventional weed killer on it.

let me know if you have success with something

Good luck. It took over my yard this summer and Inhave yet to find something to get rid of it. MSMA and Round Up haven't touched it.

I am trying to decide it I want to start over in the spring but it's coming from the neighbors yard and they don't do weed control

at least your yard is still green. Mine looks like the infield of a softball field.

A selective herbicide called Celsius does a really good job on virginia buttonweed. I've used it on my yard and many clients yards. Be patient it takes about a week before you see the kill happening but trust me it works.

Don't mean to hijack but does anyone know if a mixture of MSMA and 2-4D will kill St. Aug? Thinking of spraying this fall to help with the weeds.

For the Virginia Buttonweed, Weed Free Zone was suggested by our local Feed and Seed. I've put an application down two weekends ago, and then another last weekend. It's killing it slowly without killing the St Aug. It can also be applied during cooler weather and be effective. I'll put another application on this weekend. From what I've read, multiple applications is normal for this stuff.

For Buttonweed I use MSM, can be bought locally at Cleggs, A lot cheaper than Celsius Use a Surfactant with it, I also use sedgehammer for all nutsedge, and Dismissfor Green kyllinga kills it in 24 hrs, I use 2-4 D when it gets cooler

Sound like you have Sod Web Worms. Talstar or this from Home Depot is cheap.
