everyone i've seen looks more like an ocean kayak than a pirogue....best thing to do is go down there and see em.. of course most of the guys that built em like that in the old days are long gone.

Wish I knew about this before. I would love to bring my boy down there for this. There used to be a pirogue race at the Sauce Piquante festival in Raceland.
