I have a sig 716 I thought about trying to sell off to get into a different ar in 308. I was looking at the 2A armament .308 XLR-18

Watch out for the compliant version. I don't believe cabelas sells the regular m&p10 if that's your cup of tea.

Look at the Armalite DEF10. Solid gun for the money (about $1,000)

Cabelas only shows online that they carry the Armalite in the .223 cal.

I have a Rock River .223 that I think is the shiznizzle. I may buy their .308 soon - it has good reviews and also takes FAL mags

What's the difference other than shipping with a ten round mag? It still has an adjustable stock and muzzle device

It's different for certain states. Like California you can't put a muzzle device and it can only be a 10 round mag whereas the Maryland version is like you said, still has a muzzle device but only a 10 round clip. Just make sure you look at the mdl# and cross reference it to the s&w website

Are those .750 adjustable gas blocks by Yankee hill (the ones with the front sight posts build in) good replacements for the existing one for suppressed fire?

Not sure because I'm not much of a suppressor guy. But I imagine if yankee hill makes it, it's probably a good product.
