What’re the OB’s go to site for buying bulk ammo? Most of the well know sites are sold out or on back order.

I tend to go with the best price among the dozen or so retailers I have a good experience with - I start with ammoseek.com and then sort by price per round. I scroll down until I see a retailer I have used and go with that.

Just bought 1000 rds of 5.56 at SGammo.com

With shipping came to $442. Not the best of prices, but I'm splitting it with a friend. Gives me enough to deal with the zombies.

Got a nice batch from sportsman’s guide a few weeks back. They were a little higher than the usual cheap guys but the cheap cats were all OOS.

Free shipping don’t hurt either.

someone posted this link here previously..

www.targetsportsusa.com

i ordered from them...
the positive..
great prices and no shipping charges.

the negatve..
...SLOW processing and shipments

i ordered from my normal primaryarms at the same time. (great prices but they charge shipping) but targetsportsusa shipped the item about 3-4 weeks AFTER i had already received my ammo from primaryarms.

LINK

The final price included shipping, tax, and small amount for insurance. I went with a name I knew. Let me know if you like the IMI, may get it next time.

I'll try to remember to post on it

I'm new to .556, but have a bunch of different calibers. I did see that some AR forums spoke highly of IMI.

My experience with military-type calibers, is that ammo made in countries with active military activity has been good to go. For example, Yavex: that's a Turkish brand. I have some of their 9mm. That stuff is lacquer-sealed, and very consistent and hot (approaching +P), both my personal experience shooting and in online chrono's and reviews. My take is, Turkey doesn't play, and doesn't have the time or resources to make several grades of ammo. They make stuff for military use, and sell overstock. It's hot to the point that I won't shoot it in some older guns, but my Sigs, Berettas and CZ's love it.

I'm going to speculate that Israel is the same way- if they make 556, it's going to be military spec. That way, if they need it all, they have it; and if things are relatively quiet they can sell some over here for cash.

I have nothing but good things to say about their commerically packaged pistol ammo. I forget the branding, but it was an IMI product, similar to what Lake City does with Federal American Eagle - Samson, maybe? It was good stuff. Shot clean, too.
