How does the Grendel compare to the 300 and 5.56 suppressed with subs?

In terms of sound. I know with 300 subs you can kill more hogs, but with 5.56 you get the crack and they scatter

You want DRT or does it matter if they run off ? I’d seriously consider a 6 ARC. I have 6.5 G and a suppressed 300BO. Not a huge fan of the suppressed 300BO. If you know you’re only going to have 50 yard shots it’s OK but the trajectory sucks for running hogs.

I have killed a bunch of hogs with 95 Vmax in the Grendel and 110 Varmageddon in the Blackout.

Remember, speed kills.

No subs in 6.5 grendel.

So, comparably to the .223. Supersonic crack but no boom.

Tell me more about the ks47. Is it accurate? Reliable etc

I watched every review I could find mentioning the KS47 & every one of them spoke to the reliability of the KS47. One cat had a several thousand round review video stating "never a failure." This along with the others fueled me into a gun buying frenzy lol. Decided I had to have the pistol version during the Hoax 19 epidemic when everything was out of stock.

Rifle version came available 500+ over retail @ PSA, so what take my money. Two weeks later same thing with the pistol version, so what take my money. I was stoked to have them even paying too much. Unfortunately, I have two KS47's and my experience has not been great.

Do yourself a favor and buy brass ammo for it, if you get one. I've broken 6 bolts/extractors over three trips to the range shooting steel case, Gen ll by the way. Every range visit I left with two clubs instead of firearms I can trust 100%. Mine will cycle steel case & shoot accurately until they don't. Roughly 300 rounds in total in those three trips to the range.

Others that have them, can't believe my experience, as it hasn't been the same with their KS47's. I haven't given up on the KS47's but I'm also not in a hurry for further frustration as I leave them in the safe with the brass ammo I have purchased for them. Providing mine fail with brass I'll weld them into anchors and make videos lol.

Hindsight for me. I should have purchased several thousand dollars of subsonic 300blk ammo instead but really wanted the KS47's for range bangers my grandkids could use/learn with and I could have solid mount for optics vs. using my 100% reliable SKS without optics.

I'm confident others have not had this experience but I've got it like that sometimes. Just crazy it's the sane with two brand new KS47's from PSA. The good news is they have a lifetime warranty similar to an AutoZone starter they guarntee the part but the pain in the arse is on you.

Ok thanks. I had a hell of a time finding subs for my dad’s AR10 .308

Zeroed it last weekend and surprisingly, it was quiet. Maybe less sound than .223 suppressed

BCM makes bolts now for the 7.62 explicitly.

Have 4. Never had another failure with steel case. After a lot of rounds.

Threw my old bolts in a bag just for spare.

Each 762 rifle I have (2) has one in it and one tucked in the handle/stock for spare. Outstanding results

I have killed enough hogs with the 300BO below to feed half of China. I use underwood extreme expansion 194 Gr subs. They are deadly out to 125 yds. If you’re looking for quiet and easy follow up shots a platform like this is it. You can build for about $1400 if you SBR. If you go with a brace you can do it for $1100 depend g on Barrel and trigger.

It's been a fantastic gun. Very accurate. Every bit as accurate as my bison armory 6.8 SPC and Danielle defense 300 blackout.

I put a Geissele SSE trigger on it, adjustable, gas block, and omega, suppressor 16" barrel and it's fantastic. The whole gun I believe cost roughly 800 bucks.

It's a light gun with a very light recoil. I find the tula 124 grain point do a great job on pigs. Now that PSA is making its own sabre ak ammo with ballistic tips, I might try those as well, although I have a ton of Tula.

I'll be honest, other than being able to have a few inches shorter barrel I don't see the appeal of the 300 blackout over a ks47 And I have a great 300 blackout. I use the Fiocci 125gr SST rounds in my blackout and they do great, but the ballistics are not any better than my 762x39. The ballistics on subsonics are terrible unless you're using the really expensive subsonics that expand. In general I would never use non expanding subs on pigs because I just feel like that's inhumane.

Maybe someone can educate me. Other than shooting (under powered IMHO) subsonics and maybe a shorter barrel what is the appeal of the 300 bo over the 762x39 ks47?

Just curious. Are you suppressing the KS 47? Do you use an adjustable gas block?

If you are suppressing without using an adjustable gas block, the bolt is probably cycling too violently causing it to break.

Bro, those things are like 70 bucks for 20 rounds. Your gun looks awesome and I'm sure it sounds great, but thats insane.

Psa sabre black tips 762x39 $10.99/20 rds fyi

I hate that you had a bad experience. I have been shooting mine for a while, shot a ton of pigs, Never had any issues with the extractor. I did buy an extra bcg w/ extractor just one to have on the side, just in case though. I've only shot Russian steel case in mine.

I appreciate that, LOL me too! I never purchased a firearm with issues but now I have. When speaking with PSA they said they had an issue with extractors and assured me I'm good to go. Sent those back as well "broken" totaling six.

Sent me two more #'s 7 & 8. They said you should be good with these... I said thanks installed them bought some brass & threw them in the safe. When I feel like I'm on top of the world I'll pull them out to stay humble.

One more edit because I forgot: mine is a .223 wylde. Sea pickle who is basically a professional uses 5.56/.223.

He uses 223 wylde barrel.

I’ve got a 223 wylde proof barrel in my thermal gun and use 556 frontier BTHP

Right before COVID midway had them on sale for $34.99 a box. I bought 500 rds. Also bought 500 bullets from Lehigh to reload about 2 years ago. The are expensive but the best hunting sub made no question. Great home defense round as well. I keep my 300 BO pistol loaded with them by my bed.

Sorry I lied to you.

It was Black Rifle Arms. I went back and checked. They actually have an entire BCG also now made just for the 7.62 as well.
