SEVIN was my go-to all purpose bug killer on vegetables.

Just read the directions on sevin dust. There's a wait time between application and safe to eat.

My how times change. When I was a kid, SEVIN was commonly used on live animals.

Sevin dust was my dads flea control.

I'm not sure permethrin is safe on vegetables. Need to check and see.

Walmart sells an organic dust that works well for me so far. You can dust & eat veggies within a very short span.

I use Seven dust but I know people that use diatomaceous earth and it does work. Cuts their asses up. No poison.

yes. it is more effective than the dust because of better coverage in the liquid form. i just had to spray my plants; its that time of year.

The thing is your plants are stressed and that's when you get insects. Google what to do about them but I would find the cause of your plants problem and fix that. Just like any plant that gets stressed the bugs come, like pine beetles, never see them in heathy trees. Lost my front years during the drought to chinch bugs as they ate the. ST Augustine to the bare ground.

Good luck.

I had yearly chinch bug problems on my st. aug lawn until I started spreading Talstar. No problem in years.

seems like its just the heirloom variety which is getting torn up the most, I think the hybrids provide some sort of protection. They destroyed the whole plant in just a few days. Im gonna spray and leave it up and see what happens. If they are gone in a few I have some plants to replace it
