Preach it brotha man. U know of two or three deer posted here in the last week killed with Rage. If someone knows if any fixed kills post em. Point being look at results. Not opinions of folks who have never killed with a bow. I personally have only killed two with my Rage.

i do shoot spitfires, but, that's because i probly have 50 or so left, i believe in them and am confident when I draw...
BUT,,, I think by todays standards there are several that do as good.. spitfires were the first mechanical, i think, or the first that i tried.. Get something, shoot it, develope confidence in it by practicing and I think the most important thing is STICK WITH IT, cause all of them today are within c hairs of each other... my 2 cents..

the only things about mechanicals are: not getting a pass through and opening up before hitting the target.
I've killed 10-12 deer in the past 3 years with rage (2 and 3 blade) and I can't remember one not passing through. Before that I shot other mechanicals for 15 years, and killed deer like it was my job with all of them.
As far as opening up before impact, please tell me where you have seen this. The only way I think it could happen is if they were opened before release. I can see where someone could have 3-year-old dry-rotted o-rings on a mechanical that could cause it to open by being bumped prematurely. If it was because of the speed of the bow it would happen more often, since the physical forces would be similar on broadheads which are made exactly the same.

I'm not so sure this is a good thing.

I am a fixed blade fanboy, and that is a very ignorant statement...

Any mechanical and 90% of fixed heads will group with field tips provided your bow is in tune, you're form is correct, and you are shooting a properly spined arrow. If you are having trouble getting fixed blades to group with field tips I would recommend correcting the issues rather than masking them by shooting a mechanical. If your arrow isn't flying true you aren't going to get optimum penetration. Once you get your tuning issues worked out, if you choose to shoot a mechanical go for it. While I prefer a fixed head, there is nothing wrong with shooting a mechanical when hunting deer sized game.

I don't think you want to be squirrel hunting with rages. Then again i don't think you want to be deer hunting with rages either. I hear spitfires are good, blood runners hybrid intrigue me.
