I have been seeing pop up ads on my phone and decided to take a gander.

Any of my fellow outdoor brethren purchase such a machine? Is it too cheap and crappy to even mess with?

I wouldn’t buy any cheap bullshite. Stick to the big brands and just get something like a Honda Rancher.

Assume he means the Chinese knockoff atvs/sxs you see online and in front of places like Home Depot and tractor supply.

I’ve never used one. Guy down the road bought a CFMOTO atv, and it works for using around the yard. Stuff breaks on name brand atvs, so I guess it just comes down to what kind of warranty you can get in writing, and who is going to be responsible for honoring it. Reputable dealers are selling CFMOTO now so I assume they’ll stand behind them to some extent.

Yeah that’s it. Could not think of the brand. But have seen new 4 wheelers for $3,000.

I have a 2021 CFmoto 500 that has around 600 miles on it. I’ve yet to have a problem. Mine came with a 7 year warranty, which hopefully I never have to use.
Since I’ve bought mine, my cousin had and another guy at our camp has bought one.

If you plan to keep it for a few years and sell before warranty runs out, maybe. Keep in mind, you won’t catch crap for resale of a knockoff brand. I always worry about part availability on those atvs/sxs. Typically they’re rebranded and parts cross over but pending parts are discontinued etc. It can become frustrating. Not speaking of certain models, just food for thought.

All I know is that we have had Hondas for years, all the way back to a 90 bought in 1976 or so. We've never been able to kill one, run them like crazy during the fall and then they sit up for months before the next season, so I don't mind paying the price for the name brand.

People have had some luck with the Chinese bikes.

Guy on the lease has one.

The fake fuel lines ruined the carb.

I would recommend after seeing what it did to his to immediately pull the shite hoses off and replace with actual hoses.

His spark plug broke on him. Cracked ceramic. So I'd change that out as well.

He's had good luck but he doesn't push it hard. It's a cruiser and he doesn't take it far into the woods. It doesn't get abused.

This is one of those situations where you get what you pay for. If you’re mechanically inclined and don’t mind making repairs yourself, I’d say give it a shot.

HONDA or Yamaha. It’s worth the money.

I must say I got a deal on an old 300 as a refuge wheeler, weirdly with original title but it aint pretty but I havent met anything that could stop it...absent a pond maybe but im not into snorkeling it.

Full disclosure, I would love to have a newer one but as far as something to beat up and I can use on most public land for hunting its been awesome.

TLDR I wouldnt get some offbrand wheeler or sxs. Just my opinion though.

If you want to run around on the farm on some Chinese stuff go ahead.

Not to sound too dramatic, but when I’m 10 miles deep in riverbottom with the sun going down, a deer and a youth, I feel a lot better on something proven.

I'd be interested to see how they do long term. I rented a CFMoto to take on a National Parks trail and the clutch seemed like it was slipping after a day of riding. This was a brand new machine mind you.

I was hoping they’d lower Hondas or Polaris’ prices.

But Brandon keeps pulling them up.

I'm not buying anything with a carburetor on it.

I am the exact opposite. Carbs give me zero problems.

CFMOTO

Guy that owns property next to mine has a SxS. His is loud AF. He doesn’t run it much during deer season unless he has to go pick up a deer.
