Looks like they are renovating the Toys R US building on Gerstner. Terrible location but maybe they will bring enough new to Lake Charles that they make a go of it.
Place is lacking in top shelf hunting merch, including guns.

Maybe you won't have to stand in line for half an hour like at Academy. Probably a pretty good indicator that the area needs another option.

I like visiting in BR but find it more of a fishing store than a hunting store. If you eyeball it, there's maybe 3/4 space for fishing and 1/4 for other outdoors, and that 1/4 is a whole lot of camo.

Have walked in many times and just said NOPE, not going to do it. Management is weak at the Academy in LC to allow the lines to give them money to stack up daily like that.

saw that sign and confirmed it with our BR contact. Agree on the location but like you said, my guess is they are trying to steal the Academy crowd, which wouldn't be hard to do.

Sound like they’re making a serious go out it in Lake Charles. I passed by the Bowie’s in Natches last week and it’s really an embarrassment.

The Bowie’s in BR is great. Always have what I need and the manager lea is very helpful and knowledgeable.
