My Daddy can kick your Daddy's arse.

Just got into bow hunting. I wanted more of a challenge than gun hunting on a pipe line taking 200 yard shots.

No, he's just going to make us all feel worse about ourselves.

I used to bow hunt and may pick up a cross bow next year. I will never hunt bow during rifle season ever again. I have seen too many deer at 80 or 100 yeards I could shoot in the eye with my .308 but not safely take a clean humane shot at with a bow. Thats it. Simply a matter of more effectively putting meat in the freezer. I am also not a trophy hunter. The first 3 go down. after that I get a little more picky.

@ChoirBoy, that is awesome. I would be willing to venture over to nebraska to harvest Pheasant with my bow. You seem to have more skill than I gave you credit for.

Bunches and bunches of missed pheasant lead up to a picture.

I meant the challenge of bow hunting not just closer ranges with a handgun.

Why do hunters choose rifles?

Because our farm is grossly overpopulated and we are trying to thin the herd out before disease sets in.

And because I'm a neck-shooting murf.

And because I can.

Same reason I did as well years ago. But here is what I learned.

1. I dont hunt to hide from my kids and my wife. I do it because I actually enjoy the Meat on the table and the Kill.

2. It pisses me off when I see something I could so easily have but I brough a Bow to a gun fight.

3. I will never bitch about getting a kill early on a Saturday morning and still am able to catch the early LSU game at 11:30am. Instead of about the doe I could have killed at 9 am if I could only humanely shoot another 20 yards.

4. If you want a "challenge" go to Africa and hunt lions with a sharp stick. Or go to alaska and hunt Polar bear with an eskimo stick and some skis. NO thanks im good.

5. Bow fishing at night is awesome and a totally different thing all together. I am ready any time anyone wants to go.
