Bow Kill (Couldn’t Have Done It W/O You Guys)

Friday afternoon I arrowed my best buck to date. Not being positive about the hit I slipped out after checking the arrow and waited 3 hours. My hunt buddy and I got on the trail and blood-trailed the buck for @ 100 yds where we lost the trail. After a rather sleepless night I met a guy with a dog referred to me out at the property in Ga.
After an impossible trailing job(for human eyes and nose) of almost 1 1/2 hrs she finally found my buck almost 800 yds away from the hit. Lot of lessons were learned, but the most important was never give up the track if there is ANY chance of recovery.
Why are you OB’ers responsible for my good fortune?
Because Zada, the dog that did the most amazing tracking job ever, is the finest canine product to ever come out of ya’ll’s great state of Louisiana.....the Catahoula Leopard!!!!!
My thanks to the OB and ya’lls state for making the recovery of my best bowkill ever :) LINK

Congratulations timbo!
What kind of bow/broadhead, just out of curiosity. 800 yds would have made me cry.

Hoyt Maxxis 35 , 61 lbs
Grim Reaper 3 blade mechanical
Problem was with the shot placement. Hit him about 2” back and an inch or two lower than I wanted due to foilage covering most of his vitals. It was heart shot or nothing.
Didn’t help that I had to watch him walk up from 50 yds away, while taking his time and destroying 2 saplings on the way. LOL
Pics don’t do his neck justice, being roughly 20 hrs after the shot. Looked like a fricking Sherman tank coming through the creek bottom.
