Buddy and I took it out to Blind River yesterday. Put in at St James boat club, fished a good bit (although in the heat of the day), and eventually rode out to Lake Maurepas. I really enjoyed getting to ride the river that I'd only heard about for 20 years.

Boat performed well, and we didn't tear anything up. Trolling motor trolled.

Caught one little bream, and based on the few folks we talked to, that was the norm for the afternoon.

I'm gonna have to pay attention to where and how to fish...

Once you being in awe of owning and riding in your own boat wears off you'll care more about fishing and less about "enjoying" being in your boat. You'll always enjoy YOUR boat but you'll come to take some things for granted and focus more on putting fish in the boat.

Yea... I actually just enjoyed being on a waterway that I'd never been on... I've owned a boat before, been a bunch of years though...not really in awe of it...

enjoyed seeing how damn big that eagle is at the mouth of Blind/Maurepas.

we did fish pretty hard... just neither of us fished around here at all... we need some smarts. (and I admit, there's tons about fishing for me to learn)
