Alright guys, I come for advice. Boat was runnning like a top recently, no issues. Parked it in the lift a few days and when i tried to get back to the water, nothing would happen when i turned the key. Checked kill switch, batteries are all still 100% charged to 12v. Nothing works, trim switch, nothing. I am at a loss here. Any ideas what to check next? It si a 16' bay boat with a 150 Yamaha.

Sucks. Dumb question but shift in neutral?
Battery switch on?

I've seen this one get more than one smart man. Including me.

Did you turn off the battery disconnect switch?

I mean it SEEMS to be in neutral, batteries dont have a switch.

Why wont my trim button work? That is what is baffling me. no power

Trim switch would most likely still work with the shifter not in nuetral, so that may rule out that. Does it have an on board circuit breaker that may have tripped?

No, checked all known fuses, all still ok.

Boats and electronics are so much fun to deal with. But I would start at the batteries with a meter and work your way to key switch

These have gotten me a few times
I would say take you battery terminal off and see if you get some sparks. If nothing is working I would start with the battery and work my way from there.

Good question. I have a Suzuki that won’t trim w/o the key on but it sounds like you are getting no power whatsoever. Any breakers in line that may have tripped?
Posted on 10/11/23 at 1:07 pm to canyon
no breakers, just some 30amp fuses that are all fine

Kill switch.
If it’s bad that could kill a circuit.
See if power running from it and to it.
Always start at battery and work your way back.
Check the fuses.

Could be. I’ve had them go bad.

Look under where the ignition is. It may have come loose. I had the issue a while back. The trim on the motor worked but not the ignition or the throttle. It's a simple plug it back in and good to go.

Trim on the motor is dead too. Checked the battery terminals on the motor and all getting 12v. I am at a loss. I dont feel like spending $1000 to bring to a shop

Good point, is there a trim on the motor you can try? Instead of the one on the throttle.

does the motor turn over if you jump the solenoid?
You may be reading 12volts but the connections could fail when amperage get's involved
